SocialFare Seed is the first Italian impact seed vehicle for social impact startups.
THE INVESTMENT THESIS
To provide financial support to the social impact startups it accelerates, SocialFare spearheaded the creation of SocialFare Seed Srl in 2017—the first impact investing vehicle dedicated to providing seed capital of up to €150,000 to social impact startups from SocialFare’s acceleration programs, such as PLANET FOUNDAMENTALS and PERSONAE, among others.
Convertible financing
Each year, SocialFare Seed invests in approximately 10 startups, across two acceleration batches—each comprising five startups.
Transfer of Resources
SocialFare Seed invests exclusively in startups accelerated and selected by SocialFare.
Contract
Startups backed by SocialFare Seed begin a four-month acceleration program with SocialFare or Personae, conducted in a hybrid format in Turin or Milan.
Corporate Constitution
The program concludes with the Social Impact Investor Day, the launch of fundraising support for the startups, and the opening up of our network.
Investment amount and % equity
SocialFare Seed can also provide follow-on funding to the most promising startups and aims for an exit within 10 years of the initial investment.

The Italian Venture Capital ecosystem is growing strongly but still needs to do education, capacity building, with respect to issues of ‘entrepreneurship. The unique ecosystem created by SocialFare Seed and SocialFare provides capital and capacity building in order to give the tools to create and empower new generations of impact entrepreneurs.

SocialFare Seed is Italy's first seed vehicle for social impact enterprises and startups.
MEMBERSHIP.
SocialFare Seed is a private entity founded by impact investors: FINDE SpA, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and Fondazione CRC.
The vehicle works in an integrated manner with SocialFare, the promoter of a systemic model fostering the creation and growth of new social entrepreneurship.
It represents a unique example in Italy.
