THE SOCIAL CHALLENGE

DESCRIPTION

“Salone Internazionale del Gusto e Terra Madre” are interconnected events, organized and managed by Slow Food, addressing issues related to food and sustainability. The use of principles from Systemic Design has enabled these events to represent a new model of systemic events with a low environmental impact in the years to come. Now, the goal of the organizers is to guide the development of the event, not only as a function of environmental sustainability, but also in dialog with the social context. SocialFare has collaborated with Slow Food to map out and assess the social sustainability of the 2014 edition, drawing up guidelines to improve the social impact of the subsequent editions. The quali-quantitative analysis was conducted by our team during the pre-event phase, during the event and post-event through: questionnaires, direct observation and a significant sample interviews of all the stakeholders involved in the event (from visitors to the volunteers). The collected data was analyzed, interpreted and returned visually, using various data visualization techniques.
