Define business development strategies for social cooperatives.

CONTEXT

Legacoopsociali is an Italian association, comprised of over 2000 social cooperatives spread across the country, aiming to create communities and networks of social practitioners and give them support to scale up their projects.

In 2018, Legacoopsociali launched in Turin the first edition of SENT Think Tank, opened by the national event “Connecting Perspectives” (20-21 November). Thanks to the technical support of SocialFare, “Connecting Perspectives” became a space for inspiration, debate and reflection on entrepreneurship, social innovation and the role of cooperatives within the framework of Italian socioeconomic landscape.

DESCRIPTION

Legacoopsociali launched the first edition of SENT Think Tankwith the opening event “Connecting Perspectives” (20-21 November 2018), held and run with the technical support of SocialFare | Center for Social Innovation.

A space for inspiration, debate and reflection on entrepreneurship, social innovation and the role of cooperatives within the framework of Italian socioeconomic landscape.

SocialFare team co-designed activities to encourage discussions over the topics of culture, society and economy, and facilitated workshopsthat involved roughly 70 representatives coming from social cooperatives spread all across Italy. During these sessions, participants explored identity and typical traits of social cooperatives, compared local contingencies, and discussed pitfalls, opportunities and goals to be achieved together.

The workshops and the activities carried out brought to light social cooperatives’ priorities and ambitions, laying the foundations for drafting a position paper, a document that will be officially presented at the 40th National Congress of Legacoopsociali.
