Descrizione del progetto:

DesAlps is a project funded by the European Union to stimulate and support innovation within the alpine region through the Design Thinking approach. The objective is to implement Design Thinking (DT) in decision-making, management and production processes of SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises)

The project involves 10 partners (policymakers, innovation experts, SMEs representatives) from  5 different EU countries: Austria, France, Germany, Italy and Slovenia.

The program runs from 2016 to 2019 and is divided into 4 phases:

  • Research on the “state of the art“ of innovation in the various areas involved in the project;
  • Definition of design thinking instruments and tools to be used by trainers from the different nations;
  • Testing of the design thinking methodology on SMEs, with subsequent model/instruments optimization;
  • Dissemination of the final results of the experimentation and opening of a permanent Design Thinking Lab.

In Turin, the experimentation is run and managed by City of Turin and supported by Experientia (as technical partner) and SocialFare (as observer of the project). Extensive territory mapping activities allowed to identify the first batch of SMEs based in Piedoment that will participate in a series of workshops and coaching activities aimed at providing them with DT tools tailored on their specific challenges and needs.
