Discentis

From Latin, lit. ‘of one who is learning’

THE SOCIAL CHALLENGE

Discentis‘ mission is to generate a positive, real and measurable impact on students’ learning journey. They believe that the key to doing this are the teachers, indispensable figures and valuable guides in every classroom: in fact, every teacher, in the course of their career, will meet and have the opportunity to mark the path of hundreds or thousands of students. That is why they study the world of education and build tools, paths and activities to support their work every day.

SOLUTION

Discentis is an innovative start-up with a social vocation that focuses on educational innovation. Their solution consists of three key levels that together aim to improve teaching effectiveness and create a network of support and growth for teachers.

  1. Teacher training: they offer training and refresher courses on innovative teaching methodologies, based on the learner-centred approach, 21st century learning design and gamification. Their online courses combine theory and practice in synchronous mode, fostering collaboration between teachers and providing tools immediately applicable in the classroom. Course catalogue and webinars.
  2. Workshops for students: they design and implement workshops in which teachers, together with Discentis experts, experiment directly with the students on the methodologies they have learnt. These workshops allow the effectiveness of innovative teaching techniques to be tested and adapted to the needs of the students. Labs catalogue.
  3. Digital platform for teachers: at the heart of their proposal is a platform that serves as a hub for continuous learning and the creation of communities of practice. Teachers can exchange ideas, resources and collaborate on common projects, creating a support network to reduce professional isolation and promote innovation in their schools.
