Project description:
The Piazza Smart was created by Planet Smart City Turin at Piazza Risorgimento. It is a project developed within the framework of in TorinoLivingLab in collaboration with the City of Turin, Torino Smart City – foundation for sustainable development and IV Constituency. The making of this square is aimed at overcoming the limited vision that wants “smart” sized to be reduced to merely energy efficiency or to the endowment of technological infrastructures, instead of extending its reach to the relational and inclusive aspects, working with both physical and digital structures. Thanks to the contribution of SocialFare, “smart” refers to the urban ecosystem’s ability to respond quickly and efficiently to social needs, staying up to date with the newest behaviors and necessities of the Community. The #planetsmartsquare is an urban space capable of promoting social inclusion and increasing the capacity for action and the quality of relationships between people. By implementing services and activities of social inclusion citizens are directly involved and become a central figure in the process of change and participation.
