Project description:

SocialFare has devised, designed and created a structured curriculum in 4 workshops of idea creation and validation for second year students to address economic-social issues at the semi-private secondary school, “Mother Mazzarello” of Turin. Students, guided by designers from SocialFare, have developed design concepts by following the stages of the social innovation process and Design Thinking methodology. Here are some of the challenges that emerged from their analysis: quality education, shared planning of educational journeys, technological literacy, environmental sustainability and revisiting the schools food offerings for the students. The students were divided into co-design groups and supported by specific tools and practical exercises intended to foster the experiential learning. They have investigated the school’s ecosystem, mapped the areas of need/opportunities, simulated interviews with stakeholders of school, defined areas of possible intervention developed design solutions, with respect the actions identified as necessary to begin to setup and start the prototyping phase.
